Monitoring and control of filtration membranes

Seawater desalination, water purification and other water processes use membrane filtration treatment technologies. They have proven to be highly reliable and there are use is increasing. From an efficiency point of view, the task is to find the right balance to obtain longer filtration system cleaning cycles, avoiding blockages or irreversible damage to the membrane.

Safety and reliability are the two primaries goals in membrane filtration water treatment operations. Process protection is primarily controlled by gauge and differential pressure. Flow is used as the basic process parameter and analitycal measurement for the water quality.

Pressure measurement is essential to protect your membranes

Pressure measurement in the inlet area is important to confirm that the filtration is working well and to quickly detect pressure spikes to prevent filter damage.

Flow measurement control

The flow through a filter must be as stable as possible and any change in the flow rate, whenever the operating conditions in the plant change, must be controlled so that the filter produces the optimum output quality.

Water quality control

Several parameters are used to control the quality of the input: pH, turbidity, chlorine, SAC, conductivity and ORP measurement.
