Differential pressure measurement technology is used to measure gauge pressure, level or flow in applications with liquids, pastes and gases. With a wide range of sensor technologies, Endress + Hauser offers instruments that are perfectly suited to any kind of application.
Differential pressure transmitter with polysilicon measuring cell (metallic)
Metal cell differential pressure measurement principle
The working pressure flexes the process isolation diaphragm and a filling fluid transfers the pressure to a bridge of resistors of the (semiconductor technology) type. The change in bridge output voltage due to pressure is measured and processed.
ADVANTAGE
Metallic measuring cell in different materials and process connections available
Suitable for use at high pressures 700 bar (over load up to 1050 bar)
Temperature up to +125 °C / + 257 °F
Measurement accuracy ± 0.5 / 0.3% in basic models, ± 0.1% as standard and ± 0.05 / ± 0.025% in high-performance versions
Designed according to IEC 61508 for use in SIL2 / 3 safety systems

Measurement principle
Differential pressure transmitters with one or two separator seals are used for level measurement in pressurized vessels with high static pressure and / or in applications where flush mount process connections are required. They can be used for a product temperature between -70 and 400 °C (-94 and 752 °F).
ADVANTAGE
For use at pressure or level: Insensitive to aggressive, highly viscous, crystallizing or polymerizing products
Reliable use in demanding application conditions using coated capillaries
Process connections: Hygienic flanges and connections
Process temperature: -70 to + 400 °C (-94 to + 752 °F) measuring range: 100mbar to + 16bar (1.5 to 240psi)
Reference accuracy ± 0.075%

Electronic differential pressure transmitter
Measurement principle
The electronic differential pressure system eliminates the typical inconveniences that occur in mechanical capillary systems, as well as temperature effects in capillary systems. Operation and maintenance costs are optimized as no recalibration or reconfiguration of the system is required in the event of a component replacement.
ADVANTAGE
Electronic differential pressure system eliminates the traditional drawbacks of mechanical systems, resulting in higher process availability and reliability
The architecture and design of electronic differential pressure systems minimize safety risks
Costs are reduced due to shorter installation times, maintenance, downtime, and spare parts
Process connections: Thread, flanges and hygienic connections
Process temperature: -40 to + 125 °C (-40 to + 257 °F), optional 250 °C (482 °F)
Measuring range: 100mbar to + 40bar (1.5 to 600psi)
Accuracy: per sensor up to ± 0.05%, per system up to ± 0.07%
